November 2025 - Never declutter again!

I have got lost in the "declutter industry", and although I have been helping clients break the cycle of clutter for a while now, it has only just registered with me that actually I don't help people declutter - I help them never declutter again!

I talk about the declutter industry and how it sucks people in - a similar way to the diet industry with yo-yo dieting and how it actually wants to keep us unhappy with our weight so we keep spending money. The declutter industry relies on us being cluttered and desperately seeking out better storage, better schedules, apps or planners to make us "better". But these tools don't actually help you eliminate clutter - they keep you focussed on the stuff and looking down.

Consider the irony of acquiring more to achieve having less 🧐

By removing decluttering from their to-do lists, clients have been able to:

😍 Stop arranging weekends around a tip to Ikea or a "family sort out"

😍 Never waste another Sunday on a soul-destroying reset

😍 Look forward to seeing friends instead of panicking about unannounced visits

😍 Stop bickering with family about "who's is this junk"

These things and more become possible because decluttering is just not their focus any more.

Instead they are focussed on what really matters in life, whether that's spending more actual fun time with their kids, being more present for weekends, a business venture, a totally different way of living, and simply enjoying their homes, friends and family in a more connected way.

So, the big question is not, how can you get better at decluttering, but can you believe in a life where you never declutter again?

And if not, tell me why...
